Pilot study of over-the-counter drugs applied among the pediatric population in Bulgaria

Herbal medicines have evolved through their traditional use in a specific or cultural context. The pharmacological effects of herbal are not due to “natural” origin, but the complex character biologically active substances. Pediatricians begun integrate complementary / alternative medical therapies with conventional health care. first aim study was make an analysis over-the-counter (OTC) drugs (OTCDs) plant component. secondary investigate OTCDs terms composition and nosology for by pediatric population Bulgaria. Registered OTC component children prescribed treatment colds, pain, gastrointestinal diseases, mild sleep disorders, neurovegetative dystonias kinetosis, urinary tract inflammation, liver disease, also applied topically trauma, urticaria scars.
